We have created an ocean information retrieval system to provide specific or general information to the boat owner, fisherman, sailor, maritime community and public in general. The INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM, is the link to the technology used to define, search, and analyze your request. In conjunction with the Internet, we search, locate, and capture ocean related information from libraries and on-line databases. The resources contain vast electronic libraries covering a wide variety of ocean subjects, classified under the major categories; Oceans, Oceans Activities, Oceans Law, Oceans News, Oceans People, Oceans Resources, and Oceans Sites Directory.

You have three options on how to use our system. You may register, subscribe or we can conduct the research for you.

Registration
Registration gives you access to the public oceans related information in our system at no charge to you. Of course, if you want to support our efforts, you may make a donation.

Subscription
Subscription gives you access to the entire oceans related information in our system. Once you subscribe, you will be able to do your own research at your own pace based on your skills.  Subscription membership is $19.95/month and you may cancel at any time.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS. . . .

For a free, no obligation estimate, just call, fax or send us a description of your project. We’ll spend a reasonable amount of time with you to define and refine your information needs, and to make sure that you understand how the process works. We will tell you about cost, and what you can expect to get for your money.

Upon receipt of your request for research, we’ll give you a firm quote, not-to-exceed your budget estimate. Most jobs range from $50 and higher. We require a twenty-five (25%) percent retainer or sign-up fee which is fully refundable if no acceptable results can be delivered to you.

Our skilled searchers, can usually locate exactly the data you need from a single fact or figure to a comprehensive query.

A search can be as focused or as broad as you want. In either case, the research is tailored to your specifications.

There are two major components to our fee; 1) labor and 2) technology costs. The basic labor rate is $60/hour, with no minimum, and includes the time it takes to plan, run and process the search. Manual and/or off-line research, analysis and writing are billed at the same rate. Technology costs are fixed $2.95 per query. These are direct costs to us, as database subscribers, which we pass on to you. A complicated search or one that retrieves a lot of information will cost proportionately more.
